ENTITY WORLD

The First Entities - A Necessary Exposition

When the universe was first created, the first being who ever appeared was named Tim. The world was empty then, only a white void stretching on forever. Tim had only been alive for eight hours when he first woke up. Confused and scared, he stumbled around, trying to understand the world around him. For four long days, Tim wandered throughout the vast void, searching for anything. Tim had knowledge of nothing but white emptiness and his hands and feet for those first days.

On the fourth day, when Tim was about to give up searching, someone came up from behind him. When Tim first set eyes on her, he began to scream, for he had never seen another being before. It was then that Tim first discovered what a voice was.

Tim may have been only four days old, but he was gifted with incredible intelligence, more so than almost all the Entities. He began to point to himself and vocalize, saying, "Tim." At that very instant, Language was then created. If you continue reading, you will soon learn of him.

The other Entity did the same, creating a name for herself: "Anna."

The two began to discover words for different things together. 'Void' became the name of the great white expanse, for example. They began to bond, becoming friends in a matter of hours. In fact, they soon became engaged and had a child that they named "Dustin."

Two days later, they ran into a new Entity, whose name became "Poppy." Poppy had no defining features and said nothing. She simply kept them company for that day. They would one day become known as 'The Group of Three.'

A week had passed, and on Day 7, two strange Entities approached them.

One of them was already fluent in language. "Who are you three?" he asked. The Group of Three did not understand this, but responded with "Tim," "Anna," and "Poppy," the only words they knew.

The foreign Entity understood their lack of communication abilities. He simply pointed at himself, saying "Ferb," and introduced his partner as "Velma." The five of them all grew to become good friends. And Ferb was special because he was the only being created already with the ability to speak. He soon taught his fellow Entities how to do so.

Reese, the All-Knowing

Eventually the Head Entity took notice of these five friends. He soon appeared before them.

"Hello, beings and gentlebeings," he began, approaching them. "I am the Reese the All-Knowing, Head of All Entities. I see you have started to become friends."

"Yes, we have," said Ferb. "And who are you? Our ruler?"

"Why, yes," answered Reese. "I was appointed to be the leader of all Entities." He snapped his fingers, and the void changed from white to a bright light blue. The other Entities were impressed. "How'd you do that?" asked Poppy.

"With my supreme powers," he responded, snapping his fingers again. This time, glassy walls appeared around them, followed by a beautiful ceiling. They were at once inside a stunnning glass building. "I call this the Glass House," said Reese. "This is where we'll live in harmony."

"I don't know what harmony is," said Anna, "but it sounds comfortable."

This amazing new building was filled with long hallways, each with many doors leading to many rooms. Reese chose which rooms everyone would live in, and these are the spaces they continue to inhabit to this very day.

Duty Calls

More and more Entities began arriving at the Glass House, seeking community and guidance. Soon, it became something of a commune, where the Entities worked together to discover their purpose.

That purpose became painfully clear one day. All the Entities were having a meeting discussing why they were there, and what they should do, when Reese entered the room.

"Entities and Gentleentities," he started. "I have an announcement. I know why we were put here." Everyone turned their heads toward Reese.

"We were put here to be in charge of another world." Reese made a circular motion with his arm and a portal opened. Everyone gasped, looking through to the other side.

"What you see here is the Physical World," said Reese. Looks beautiful, doesn't it?" Everyone nodded. "We have jurisdiction over this land. If we don't maintain it, it will fall into disarray.

He passed books out to all the Entities. "These are your guidebooks," Reese stated firmly. "Your responsibilities are stated clearly in here. Read carefully."

Over the next few days, the beings read their books, and began to learn the truth: their actions had a direct impact on the lives of Humans in the Physical World. To serve and protect Earth and Humanity, they had to be responsible.

Tim and Anna soon learned that they were in charge of Time on Earth. Whenever Tim got tired and fell asleep, it would change from Day to Night in the Physical World. When he awoke, morning dawned.

Anna was in charge of the passing of seasons and weather, to some extent. Whenever she was happy, that was a sunny day on Earth, but when she was feeling down, the sky turned gray.

Poppy was representative of humans. Whenever she got sick, a virus would begin to spread among humans. When she had gone too long without eating, famines would break out.

And all the other beings had similar jobs. This is how life went on for the Entities.

Businessmen

It became apparent that there had to be more structure to the lives of the Entities. So one day Reese made a decision, and an announcement.

"Good citizens of the Glass House," Reese spoke loudly. "I've noticed that there needs to be more of a system. We sort of just live our lives carefully, defending ourselves from danger to protect the Earth. But we need to be more active."

Reese handed out paper to the Entities. "This is magical something I like to call paperwork," he said. "What you don't realize yet is how powerful your hands are. If you simply sign your name at the bottom of a sheet of paper, whatever is on that paper will happen! As long as it pertains to your area of expertise, of course."

And so the Glass House became known as the Glass Office to many, as that was its new primary purpose.
